If you were me?

Sometimes you sit in the full view of the crowd,
While deep down inside you want to scream loud.
Other brief moments your silent and numb,
But project to the world your the meaning of fun.

No one can see you as you turn your mind in,
As no one will notice when you're committing a sin.
Your thoughts and dreams scatter inside your head,
And sometimes you wonder if you'd be better of dead.

The light of the tunnel seems so far in distance,
What you decide now will always be different.
The claws in your thoughts hang on to the life,
And the wind whips your body as if its a knife.

You reach for the goal that seems never to be,
Struggling and pushing for your own destiny.
Laughter is something that never comes close,
You remember a time but feel like a ghost.

Turn to the sun and feel the daylight,
The people who care will want you to fight.
Extend yourself from the hole you have dug,
The embrace of someone is what's called a hug.

They are your rock and your reason to be,
Stop saying you're nobody and learn that you're me.
Individual you are and important to you,
If you were me what would you say to do?

  1. Wow, this is very powerful! There are a lot of people who could need to hear this, to help them begin to feel better about themselves. I especially love the line "stop saying you're nobody and learn that you're me".
